OPEN4’s report writer is a BMH product; it’s not a repackaged product from another vendor. It was designed from inception to be an integral part of the OPEN4 system. While powerful in its capabilities, it shares a consistent look and feel that spans the entire OPEN4 system – and it’s fast and easy to use.

The report editor allows you to work with a representation of the finished report. There won’t be any surprises; the generated report will look just the way you expected. And the intuitive nature of the design makes it easy to learn and to use with proficiency. We designed it to be used primarily by HR and PR personnel (not programmers), and therefore it doesn’t require assistance from IT.

We’ve pre-defined table relationships, eliminating one of the most daunting challenges found in many other report writers. A report writer is of little value if it is difficult to use. Countless individuals tell us that OPEN4’s RW is much easier to use than any they’ve previously experienced.

The report writer honors OPEN4’s security all the way down to the field level. That means that you don’t need to create multiple sets of security controls – or limit access to administrator-level users. If a salary amount is prohibited from screen display for a particular user, that person won’t be able to add it to a report.
