Dallas, Texas (October 8, 2003) Kellermeyer
printed thousands of continuous form checks semi-monthly. Toni
Grace, Payroll Supervisor for KBS, had to run them through
a check signer, manually remove the feed holes, burst them
and then batch them by location to be delivered or mailed.
Getting the payroll out required four employees eight hours
each pay period – that's a staggering 32 man-hours per pay
period, 768 hours a year spent manually processing payroll.
Chris Penzinski, VP of Information Systems at KBS, recognized
that something needed to be done. The payroll staff was stressed
out each pay period and hitting a wall trying to get the payroll
completed and out. He contacted John Snyder at BMH asking for
help and was made aware of a partnership between BMH and Centro
Information Systems that appeared to offer a solution. Centro's
Print-to-Mail solution could streamline the payroll process
and eliminate over 75% of the manual labor previously needed.
KBS added an HP4300 printer and a Formax 2030 folder/sealer
from Centro and along with BMH-modified software, has eliminated
manual signing, folding, stuffing, sealing and metering. KBS
is now saving 672 man-hours per year on pay period processing
alone. Couple that savings with the added bonus of eliminating
the purchase and storage of thousands of envelopes and the
ability to use the Print-to-Mail system for W-2 tax forms at
year-end and KBS couldn't be happier.
Connie David commented on the Print-to-Mail system: “It's
wonderful and saves so much time; now it takes only one person
to print, stuff and distribute the payroll and it's done in
only 4 hours.” Asked if she would recommend this application,
Connie says, “Definitely, I can't believe how quickly it gets
the job done.”
Mr. Penzinski's expectations of conserving resources were
certainly exceeded. He stated that he was very happy with the
Print-to-Mail solution that Centro and BMH provided.
