FMLA Tracking

Results of a recent CCH (Commerce Clearing House) poll showed that over two-thirds of the respondents regarded the tracking of Family Medical Leave to be “Difficult”. Those that perceived compliance to be “Not Difficult” had tracking software and procedures in place. Make no mistake, FMLA is a major headache and those who are charged with tracking it need help.

OPEN4’s FMLA module is designed to help your organization comply with federal and state mandates. It automatically displays verification of hours worked for eligibility and retains individual records for each occurrence of time taken (both incremental and long-term). The system tracks certifications - when they’re due for return and when they expire – based on your company policy.

Add your company-specific policy documents (in Word® format) to the standard government issue documents, and a comprehensive set of forms may be printed for an employee requesting leave - simply check the appropriate boxes and click “print”.

All four options for determining the FMLA “leave year” are supported, including the difficult “rolling 12-month” periods. The “rolling” period techniques cannot be properly maintained without a detailed history of every single occurrence of leave taken, even down to portions of hours – and our FMLA module accommodates that.

Our standard reports include FMLA absence history for a selected employee, or for all employees. And reports are provided for certifications due for return and those that are expiring. Calendars display FMLA time taken for a month or for a full year. And those calendars may optionally include any vacation and absence time taken as well – simply check a box.
