The content of our standard courses is described below. In addition to these classes, we can tailor a class to your individual requirements. If you have new personnel who need training or just a refresher course for your users, we can handle your needs.
 
 System Administration and Setup
Prerequisites
  • Some technical knowledge of the user's system and any interface necessary to other systems
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policy and procedures as they apply to payroll and human resources
  • Decision making authority regarding OPEN4 security
  • Screen editor discussion would benefit from some exposure to programming

Attendees
Manager/supervisor-level individuals with the ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures as they apply to payroll and human resources.

Course Length
1 – 1.5 days

Overview
Enables the user to set parameters on system, company, division, branch, and department levels of OPEN4 to ensure proper functionality of HR and Payroll modules. User will also receive instruction on how to set security, as well as modify tables, menus, screens, and processing lists.

 Person Information Master
Prerequisites
Ability to interpret and implement company policy and procedures as they apply to payroll and human resources.

Attendees
  • Payroll and Human Resources staff using the OPEN4 system on a day-to-day basis.
  • System Administrators responsible for technical support of the OPEN4 system.
  • Individuals with fiscal responsibility for payroll, compensation, and benefits.

Course Length
1 – 1.5 days

Overview
Enables user to perform HR/PR maintenance, including new hires, rehires, terminations, and applicant tracking. User will learn to set up and maintain company level HR functions such as benefits administration, compensation, and training. Will also see how to utilize OPEN4 to comply with EEO, affirmative action, and new hire reporting requirements.

 Payroll Operations
Prerequisites
Ability to interpret and implement company policy and procedures as they apply to payroll.

Attendees
  • Persons with fiscal responsibility for payroll, payroll taxes, compensation, and benefits.
  • Persons actually performing the payroll operation and backup support staff.
  • System Administrators responsible for technical support of the OPEN4 system.

Course Length
1 Day

Overview
Covers step-by-step processing, including manual checks, voids, pay period balancing, and tax reporting. User will also learn to set up payroll calendars, pay requests, and run sheets.

 Report Writer
Prerequisites
None

Attendees
Any OPEN4 user not already familiar with the report writer.

Course Length
.5 - 1 Day

Overview
Enables user to create basic reports, as well as copy and modify existing reports within OPEN4. Exposure to various editing and formatting functions, basic expressions, where conditions, and run/edit security.
